Orange you glad you used Clairol?

So I decided to go back to being a blond. Which I have been since I discover hair bleach. About 2 months ago I went brown/red. Only because my little niece, Bethanny, is so cute as a brunette. Well that did not really work out for me, but I stuck it out for a few months. So with the new year coming and I have been off work for a while I decided now would be the time to change my hair in case it really looked bad. Well guess what, I was right. First I used a blond kit, it did nothing at all to my hair. So I went out and got a "blue" blond Ultra for my hair. My hair is orange. You can not really tell in the pictures I took for you. Bob says it is yellow, which only reminds me of Cabbage Patch dolls with yellow yarn hair for blond. But it also reminds me of my Cabbage Patch dolls which had "red" hair which was red yarn. I guess I will work with it more before I go back to work ~ but for now, and going into the new year ~ I will be orange.
I thought my hair was darker than my Brussels Griffon, Shadow. But once again Bob says it is lighter. Well in the first picture I am holding Shadow and I would say my hair is darker.
As for the new year I have a memory I want to share with everyone. When I was 15, as my son is now, I remember sitting in the living room of my Grandmothers home. It was New Years Eve and I wanted to go somewhere with my friends but I did not want to disappoint my Grandmother. So instead I played cards with her all night thinking how nice I was to spend time with an old lady instead of going out with my friends.
Guess what, that is one of my favorite memories of her. Thinking now like a parent I think what would a kid be worrying about New Years Eve at only 15. But then I was certain I was the best grand kid ever. My brother was off with his friends and my sister was away in college . I am glad I spent that New Years Eve with her. We played Gin and I don't even remember who won. Just that the whole time I was worried that I could be having fun somewhere else.
I am thankful of all my memories of my Grandma which I will probably share with you in the future for she is my guiding light, the person I think about most.
~Until next year ~ Dorsa!!!!!!!!

Visit between the holidays!!

Well for Christmas I got this great new camera from my sister. Love it. I have not had a camera for about 2 years because my German Shepherd loved it a little to much. Well now that I have one I am trying to find all the things I can to take pictures of. My dogs are real hams when it comes to pictures but my 15 year old thinks it is his duty to avoid any picture I might want to take of him. That is the way with kids I guess. He won't even tell me when school pictures are out so I can get one of them. I wonder if I was ever that way or if my parents just didn't want pictures of me. I can tell you there are not many around 12 to now.

So I am going to work on taking lots of pictures of just about everything I find interesting. New Year New Me! that is what I am going to do. So here is a picture of my little Chance. He is a little Morkie ~Half Yorkie Half Maltese. All love. I will keep you updated on my pictures and whenever I can catch Bobby not looking I will throw that one in here too!!! LOL. Boy is he going to hate me for that. Good thing he does not read my blogs. ~ Till next time Dorsa

Carnal Gift by Pamela Clare

It is the day after Christmas and I find I don't have much to do, which is a good thing. I went to my stash of books I had borrowed from the library for my trip to Kansas (which I had not time to read, much to my surprise!). I found Carnal Gift.
I just read this book in about 7 hours. Not that it is a small book, 372 pages. It is just I did not want to put it down. I really liked this book . Lots of steamy pages, lots of exciting plots and oh so much to enjoy. Brighid is someone you want to be happy. Starts out with Brighid being stolen from her family to be a gift to Jamie from his "friend". From there Jamie falls in love with her and has to fight his friend and England to be with her. Good job to Pamela for taking on the conflict between religions! I could not wait for them to be together. Love the fact that her brothers are not forgotten characters and they have a story of their own.
I am a big fan for Judith McNaught, but now I am also a fan of Pamela Clare.
If you get the chance you should read Carnel Gift by Pamela Clare, but be ready not to want to put it down, and a few Carnal pleasures!!! ~ Dorsa

Merry Christmas

So it is Christmas Eve and my son Bobby and I have been having a great time. We played games and made s'mores in the fireplace. I love Christmas Eve and our little traditions. He always gets pajamas and he thinks it is funny to act like he does not know what he is getting. Then he also gets a s'mores making kit and we make those and play games.
Tomorrow we are going to my sisters and having breakfast and lunch for Christmas. Our mom is coming over and we are going to have a great time. Now all I need to work on is my New Years resolution. The truth is I drink to much, smoke to much and I am over weight. So I think I need to pick one to work on. Because I am single and think I need to work more on my looks I think I am going to work on losing weight.
To tell the truth I am real close to quiting smoking so some time this year I will work on that. So what I am going to do is post some pictures of me and then some more when I lose some weight. If you have any ideas about weight reform I would love to hear them. I will try anything just to see if it works. Right now I am thinking I am going to do a little less eating and some exercise and see how that works. Don't we all wish there was some special pill to just lose the weight? Let me know if you know of one of those that really work!!!
Until then I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

High school friends

I am always looking for my old friends from high school. You can go to the reunion sites and pay money and maybe someone you know will be on there. I think the best way to find your old friends is to get on facebook.com. It is free and that is where everyone is at. For the last couple years I have been on myspace.com and the only people I ever find are my "new" friends.
I got on facebook and right away all my old friends from high school were asking to be my friend. It was so nice to "see" people from my younger days that I just can't wait to log on and see who is on there now. I love getting in touch with my friends from high school, seeing what they have been up to and then getting to know them all over again.
Just because you move away does not mean you have to lose touch with all the people you love. Try it I think you will be suprised, I know I was.

Simple and Easy Cake Balls

Easy way to make a great treat for everyone.

1 box cake mix of your favorite flavor.
1 can of your favorite icing.
package of almond bark.

Make the cake according to the box instructions. Let cool. Cut up cake and place in large mixing bowl. Add 3/4 to full container of icing. Mix with mixer. Roll into bit size balls and place in refrigerator to chill for one hour. Melt almond bark (chocolate or vanilla) according to directions(I like to use the microwave). I find it easiest to use a toothpick to dip the cake balls in the almond bark. Place on wax paper to dry.

These balls are great for office parties, birthday parties or the holidays with family and friends. There are so many different combos you can pick from. My favorite is red velvet and cream cheese icing. Pick your favorite combo and get to dipping, you will be glad you did!!!
